Australia's competition watchdog has expressed concerns over customer shopping habits, noting an increasing reluctance among shoppers to purchase groceries from competing stores due to the influence of customer loyalty programs. In a discussion paper released on Thursday, the ACCC announced plans to explore the extent to which supermarkets utilize data analytics for making strategic decisions regarding pricing and product assortment.
