We have a monthly "just the facts" New Zealand loyalty market update newsletter. April's edition is out soon and you can sign up here.
In March we covered:
- Woolworths Supermarkets (previously Countdown Supermarkets) new Everyday Rewards program helps customers earn rewards 2X as fast as the previous Onecard program. The same Everyday Rewards program drove a 42% year-on-year increase in Everyday Rewards App users in Australia.
- Air New Zealand Airpoints; added 400,000 new members in the past year pushing membership up to 4.4 million (New Zealand's population is 5.3 million).
- Mercury NZ; their new loyalty program last year issued 238,000 rewards and 214,000 free power days. Members logged 4 billion steps in the Mercury app.
- Loyalty platform consolidation; New Zealand loyalty platform VMob (2011) became Plexure (2016), listed on the NZX Limited and had a $5 million investment from McDonald's (2019), merged with TASK (2021) which was just acquired by US-based PAR Technology.
