The phasing out of cross-website cookies that track users’ browsing make the walled garden of retailers’ sites and loyalty programmes more valuable. Sainsbury's, with its Nectar Loyalty's 17 million members, could add approximately £90 million in profit over five years through their retail Media Network Nectar360. At Tesco, this new strategy could add between £200-300 million in the 2027 financial year, which represents 8%-12% of last year’s operating profits.
