Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand propose an alliance allowing Velocity members to earn points on trans-Tasman flights. Approval pending in New Zealand.

Proposed Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand Alliance
Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand are proposing a new alliance. Under this partnership, Virgin customers would be able to earn Velocity Frequent Flyer points and status credits on Air New Zealand flights between Australia and New Zealand. While this has been approved by the Australian regulator, approval from New Zealand’s Ministry of Transport is still pending.
